About 9 years ago, I was having a lot of tooth pain. My dentist at the time could not find anything wrong and dismissed me. My boyfriend (now my husband) recommended that I see his neighbor, who was also his dentist. “If there is something wrong with that tooth, Nancy will figure it out.” Sure enough, Dr. Halsema tapped on the tooth and pieces of it went flying across the room. I had a fracture that went up my gum line and was not noticeable by X-ray. She believed there was a problem and since technology could not prove it, she discovered it “the old-fashioned way.” Since that time, I have had every weird tooth ailment possible. Dr. Halsema not only discovers what the problem is, but believes me when I tell her “something isn’t quite right.” She takes the time to listen and is truly concerned about her patients.
